All pictures of the Brutale are hosted with PicVault.info so if they load slowly or do not load at all it is a problem with their server. It has been so long since I have used the stock seat with my Brutale, I don't really remember how it felt.
I do know, that since I installed the Corbin Seat, I have never suffered from a sore butt again.
I was lucky, I got my seat for free. Corbins Website had a list of bikes they were looking to use as test beds for to design and manufacture seats. They listed the Brutale, infact it was listed for a month or so before I even contacted them, and then for a few more weeks as they didn't initially respond right away.
Once everything was worked out as to when to bring it down to Hollister and such, the only delay was me.
Finally I had time where I could bring the bike down and leave it. My friends Clay and Maryure went down in Clay's Shelby, and I rode ahead on the Brute. I only got stopped by the CHP once!
I had to wait a month until I got the Brutale back.
I missed some excellent riding weather, but I have my Honda's and they helped me take my mind off of things.
Who am I kidding, being without the Brutale for a month was killing me. I wanted to ride it, I was addicted to it's raw power, and big bully characteristics. I could beat every bike around here and not have sand kicked in my face like when I ride my little Honda's.
Finally, oh my god finally, Corbin sent me an email, my bike was ready. My friend Clay was back in the country, but this time without his Shelby Mustang, so we had to go down in my Xterra and get the bike. I was going to ride it at first but decided we would take my trailer and just tow it back. Wise decision on my part because when I got there, the battery was dead.
The seat, it looked great, best of all it was very comfortable. I am short so it helped me there too!
All the pictures on Corbins site are my bike. I got a free seat and my bike becomes another nude hottie on the net. I loaded the bike, picked up some free T-Shirts, looked around the factory one more time.
I was told I needed to have the bike detailed before I left. I said no thanks but they insisted. So I rolled the bike around to the back. It was hot I wanted to get this over with. Of course the Detail Person was on a break.
For some reason though, I didn't mind waiting.
This was going to be a difficult job, the Brutale was very dusty. A uniform adjustment was needed.
As she began to hose the bike down, I was thinking to myself, I could use some of that too!
After an awefull day of driving in traffic, dealing with the heat and carrying this very heavy duffle bag that fell out of an Armored Car onto the freeway in front of us, getting my bike detailed was the best thing to happen to me all morning.
I didn't care at all that I had to pay for the Detailing. I followed the nice young lady to her Office.
I politely asked her," May I Take Your Picture?" She turned and faced me so I could.
When we got into her office, I asked what do I owe you for treating my bike so nice?
She replied as she turned around, " A Massage...."
Later I met the Mayor of Hollister, who gave me the key to the town and said I would have my $100,000 deposited electronically into my bank account in less than an hour. What more could I want? Well how about 5 of the most gorgeous women in the state to take pictures with me and my bike? When the champagne started to flow, and the clothes started to come off, I knew I had died and gone to heaven.
It was getting late,
I had to stop day dreaming and get the Brutale loaded. It's a long way to my house from Hollister.
Corbin uses these pictures of my baby on their website, taken in their studio.
Anyway, I have had the seat for one year and so far it's not showed any sign of wear and tear and it's still very comfortable.
In the outside light, the seat still looks great.
My friends complain about the stitching in the above picture. I'm not that anal. I try to keep the bike looking nice, but first and foremost it's for riding, secondly it's for crushing the life out of anything that doubts it's abilities.
I think overall the seat is well made, comfortable, and a very decent price. Oh wait, what the hell do I know about the price, I got mine Free.
One day I'll put the stock seat back on and I'll compare it to the Corbin one.
BTW, I better state that there is actually no beautiful girl at Corbin that details your bike. That part of this write up is an embellishment, written to add a little appeal to this otherwise dull article.
